The sea lettuce is native to Madagascar, India, Malesia, tropical Australia and the Pacific Islands, but has become a fairly common seashore plant in Singapore, having been washed over by the seas. The lettuce is noted for its fleshy light green leaves with hairy underside, and white to pale yellow flowers.
