Today's generation will experience Singapore history like it has never been told before - through the Singapore Bicentennial iBook that uses animation and videos to make the past feel truly alive. Challenging the way local history has been taught, this interactive, immersive book will unlock forgotten chapters of our nation's journey and be accompanied by the upcoming reissue of Singapore: A 700-year History, a book published by the National Archives of Singapore.
While the iBook is a joint effort between historians and the Ministry of Education, students and teachers were also invited to participate. In three focus group sessions held at Bendemeer Secondary School on 28 June 2018, students and teachers from seven secondary schools were treated to a sneak preview of the iBook, where they also shared insights and suggestions on how the iBook could be made more engaging and relevant to a wider audience.
