Volunteer training sessions

To ensure these volunteers were equipped for their very important task, the Singapore Bicentennial Office held two training sessions on documenting family histories and charting genealogy on 10 February and 21 April 2018. From students, professionals, civil servants to retirees, Singaporeans from all walks of life came to take part in the training, which was conducted by Mr Hazriq Idrus of The Speaking Factory, and SBO’s Volunteer Engagement Manager Nurulhuda Subahan.

Volunteers from the People's Association Youth Movement, Madrasah Al-Ma'arif Al-Islamiahand Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah, Singapore Memory Project and the Istana Heritage Gallery actively participated in the sessions – listening to tips from facilitators, taking practice photos, and learning to glean the most interesting stories from pioneers who shared their memories and mementos from the past.

Be sure to reserve your tickets early for this immersive experience that showcases key moments in Singapore's 700-year history.
