Wheels@Ubin 2017 (Second Edition)

Community Helping The Disabled

Wheels@Ubin 2017 builds on the momentum of its successful first edition organised in 2015, and will involve 150 PWDs crossing the sea to enjoy the unique culture and rustic charms of Pulau Ubin.

The inaugural edition saw many public sector agencies, volunteers, Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs), private organisations, and community groups coming forward to realise the team’s vision of ensuring that no part of the country, including the offshore islands, is inaccessible to any Singaporean. Using the project as an impetus, the team hopes that Singapore will eventually become a society where Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) are not left behind in the larger scheme of things, even as the country continues to advance and progress on all other fronts.

This year, beyond the wheelchair-user community, the project team hopes to work with other VWO partners to involve beneficiaries with sight and/or hearing impairments.
