The screwpine is believed to be native to Australia, Indonesia and Pacific Islands up to Hawaii, and only found in cultivation in Singapore. The tree itself can grow up to 14 metres in height, with the height reaching up to 8 metres. Its bright orange fruits look like pineapples, and arranged in spherical clusters.
