Considered part of a new breed of young Singapore poets that emerged in the 1990s, Alvin Pang is the founder and webmaster of The Poetry Billboard, an online literary website that showcases Singapore literature. His publications include two collections of poetry, Testing the Silence and City of Rain. His poems are characterised as urban and cosmopolitan yet intimate in nature.

The Battlebox is a former World War II British underground command centre located inside Fort Canning Hill. It was part of the headquarters of Malaya Command in World War II. It was inside the Battlebox that the British made the decision to surrender Singapore to the invading Japanese on 15 February 1942. Restored and curated by Singapore History Consultants, the Battlebox is today a museum.

Currently Head of Department for Humanities (Acting) at St Margaret’s Secondary School, Delia Foo Wen Xian is also the school's Subject Head for History. Previously, she served at the Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD) – reviewing, monitoring and implementing the history syllabuses in secondary schools. She was also part of the writing team that produced resources for teaching Singapore history. Once a Nutmeg plantation in the 1850s, the area was home to military base for the Far East British Forces in the 1860s and eventually transformed to an iconic lifestyle destination, known as Dempsey Hill of today. The conserved military barracks, once known as Tanglin Barracks, bears witness to the former colonial days, through the Japanese Occupation to Singapore’s Independence. The Battlebox is a former World War II British underground command centre located inside Fort Canning Hill. It was part of the headquarters of Malaya Command in World War II. It was inside the Battlebox that the British made the decision to surrender Singapore to the invading Japanese on 15 February 1942. Restored and curated by Singapore History Consultants, the Battlebox is today a museum.

In 1984, the school was renamed Zhonghua (the Hanyu-Pinyin equivalent) Secondary School.
