Nonsense is a story about refugees. It is also a story about us. 
War is nonsense.
Millions losing their families and homes is nonsense.
And then,
What we take as sense may sometimes be nonsense.
What we take as nonsense may sometimes be beauty and hope.

The play Nonsense, devised and performed by youths from the Down Syndrome Association (Singapore) (DSA), is part of a year-long research, creation and rehearsal process. It is led by established professional drama educators and theatre makers, Jean Ng and Julius Foo, director/writer and assistant director respectively, who have been working with DSA for the past 14 years.

Nonsense is part of a triple-bill of plays by various youth groups and the M1 Peer Pleasure Youth Theatre Festival 2017, presented by ArtsWok Collaborative, in collaboration with Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. The theatre festival mentors youths in the craft of theatre-making, providing opportunities for them to collaborate with peers to stage productions with important social themes.
