Apply For A Grant

Our Singapore Fund is open for application throughout the year and you must submit your application at least eight (8) weeks before the project start date.

The processing time for Our Singapore Fund application is approximately eight (8) weeks from the submission of your application.

An email notification will be sent to you when the application result is finalised. You may also check your application status via the Our SG Grants portal at oursggrants.gov.sg.

Our Singapore Fund is not a sponsorship but it is a grant based on co-funding basis.

The Our Singapore Fund is unable to support the following costs and expenses, unless there is approval in writing from Our Singapore Fund:

(a) any expenditure committed or made before the effective date of acceptance of the Letter of Award upon award of the approved grant;
(b) any start-up costs or capital expenditure (including but not limited to registration or licensing fees, property rental, and any expenditure on office equipment, computer infrastructure and transportation vehicles);
(c) any cash prizes or honorarium;
(d) any local and overseas accommodation costs;
(e) any overseas travel costs (including any relevant costs for travelling to and/or from Singapore);
(f) any costs funded by any other sources;
(g) any financial benefit of whatever nature that accrues to the Recipient and related parties;
(h) any notional costs, including but not limited to opportunity costs, depreciation and potential income loss;
(i) any costs associated with the employment of staff under a contract of service;
(j) such other costs or expenses as the Agency may determine from time to time, by notice in writing to the Recipient.

The Our Singapore Fund does not prohibit supported projects from seeking other sources of funding. Applicants must declare the other fund(s) and/or grant(s) applied for or received in the application form. For transparency and proper accountability, projects involving online fundraising elements must adhere to the Code of Practice for Charitable Online Fund-Raising Appeals. Platforms that subscribe to the Code of Practice are: Giving.sg; Give.Asia; Simply Giving; Ray of Hope Initiative Limited.

However, the supported project must not be profit generating, i.e. total funding received from all sources must not exceed 100% of the total project cost. Otherwise, we reserve the right to reduce the Approved Amount the Recipient receives.

If your application is successful, the Our Singapore Fund may support up to 80% of your project's qualifying cost, up to a cap of $20,000. However, the final disbursement will be based on actual expenditures.

Let us illustrate with an example.

Project A has a total cost of $30,000. The application is successful and the Our Singapore Fund will be supporting 80% of the project's qualifying costs, up to a cap of $20,000. Assuming the entire project costs of $30,000 are qualifying, the Our Singapore Fund will provide a funding at $20,000, as 80% of $30,000 (i.e. $24,000) is higher than the maximum funding amount of $20,000.

Suppose that after completion, the final project costs turned out to be only $22,000 as the applicant has managed to reduce cost. If the full project cost of $22,000 is qualifying, funding will be computed based on 80% of $22,000, as $17,600 (i.e. 80% of $22,000) is below the funding cap of $20,000.

The funds will be disbursed in two tranches, i.e., 40% of approved funding will be disbursed upon acceptance of the Letter of Award and the remainder of the approved funding will be disbursed after the project is completed and the costs finalised. The second tranche is on a reimbursement basis.

Let us illustrate with an example.

Project B has a total cost of $20,000. The application is successful and the Our Singapore Fund supports the project at 80% of its qualifying costs, capped at $16,000.

The first tranche of disbursement will be $6,400 (i.e. 40% of $16,000). This will be processed upon acceptance of the Letter of Award, and no supporting documents is required.

Suppose after project completion, and after verification of the expenditures is completed, the final qualifying costs for Project B turned out to be $15,000. The funding provided by the Our Singapore Fund will thus be computed based on 80% of $15,000, which is $12,000. Since the Our Singapore Fund had already disbursed $6,400, the final disbursement will be the remaining $5,600.

Your claim for the final reimbursement must be submitted within three (3) months from the project completion date.

You will need to submit softcopies of the following documents via the Our SG Grants portal:

(i) Project Completion Report;
(ii) Claim form;
(iii) Supporting receipts;
(iv) At least 5 photos or screenshots of the event and at least 4 feedback forms from participants/audience; and
(v) Any other supporting document.

The documents will be verified by an independently appointed assurance firm, who may get in touch with you for clarifications. This process may take between 1 to 2 months, and your kind patience is appreciated.

Upon verification of the documents, we will inform you of the final reimbursement amount.
- If you applied as an individual applicant, we will proceed to credit the final reimbursement amount to you within 30 days from the notification.
- If you applied as an organisation applicant, we will need you to issue us an e-invoice to process the reimbursement.

In general, we recommend applicants to not have more than one ongoing Our Singapore Fund-supported project at any one time. Resources and the capacity of applicants are important considerations to ensure the successful completion of a project. If you wish to apply for a new project to be supported by Our Singapore Fund , you should complete the approved project successfully before submitting the application for a new project.
